Retired clinical forensic psychologist and college professor. Author of twenty-three published novels, mostly histories and mysteries. Frequent contributor to various magazines and anthologies. Recipient of the Derringer Award (twice); ITW Thriller Award; the PWA Shamus Award (twice); the KN Silver Falchion Award; and the MRI Macavity Award. Had a story ("See Humble and Die") selected for The Best American Mystery Stories 2020. Married for almost forty years, with two grown children and two grandsons we spoil rotten.
