I'm so sorry to hear this. George lived near me on Elder Ave. for years. We hung out together through most of high school. George was in the ROTC at East. And he loved his Chevy Novas. We spent a lot of time working on them. He wrecked more than one during the East years. George's folks were from Pageland, SC. And he always seemed more at home there then he was in Charlotte. I know he moved there for a while. But I lost track of him over the years. I'm really sorry he's gone.
I was hoping to see George at the reunion. I did not know he had passed. We go way back. His father worked for my father, Cecil Threadgill, Sr. Construction Company. My father passed in 1968 when I was 13 years ond George was also very nice to me whenever we ran into each other.
